Crushing is a preparation where materials are brought into a three dimensional wrinkle optic through thermo fixation. Crushed materials of any duration are made out of synthetic threads in order to preserve the special look even after washing. They mustn’t be ironed.

Nevertheless, also organic textiles can be crushed but not for long. They have to be brought into form after every washing procedure. For this reason they are twisted into a knot and dried. As the drying takes longer this way it is not impossible for the material to dye. Needless to say that this can also be quite an experience! This is why we advise you to use plain colours for such experiments.
